WetFire Chemical Tinder Fire Starter

Mon Feb 16 2009
We were asked to review the WetFire Chemical tinder from Ultimate Survival Technologies. This is an odorless, chemical cube, which feels like a mix of chalk, a marshmallow and a sugercube.. only this cube burns well even when wet. This chemical tinder works well for starting emergency fires. These cubes are individually wrapped in heavy foil pouches and would make an excellent addition to any survival kit.

From the Ultimate Survival Technologies Website:

The perfect accompaniment to any fire starter, WetFire™ tinder can help you get a blaze going even in a downpour. In fact you will find, these amazing cubes actually burn longer when wet!

WetFire™ tinder was born from the need for a universal lighting material that was safe, odorless, easy-to-carry, and unaffected by wind or water. You might not be like the elite military troops for whom is was designed but you can be prepared like them.  If you are into the outdoors and find yourself hiking, camping, or backpacking you never know where you might end up and in what kind of weather. You need something that will light a fire in a rainstorm if needed, but even better are the bonuses of it being non–toxic and extinguishing instantly.
